Re: 1999 FL D14 OBD1 coversion with P28 ECU

Thnx again richy! I might go the P28 route one day, but it involves a bit more work than I first thought it might. As for my problems - it was the ignition switch - fairly common thing too. For now, I took it off and brushed and cleaned the contacts. In the future I'll probably just replace it with ...

Re: Possible ignition switch problem? Or cylinder broken?

A small update- it was indeed the switch Betek was talking about - I took it apart and temporarily rebrushed the contacts and put it back together. It works for now - I'll do a better procedure in time. Dealer had the RHD version which Im affraid, doesnt fit - new LHD version is 45 EUR:/ This articl...

Re: Possible ignition switch problem? Or cylinder broken?

Betek, are you 100% sure about immobilizer controling the starter as well? Namely, I am able to run the starter even with a screwdriver plugged into the lock (lock has to have some mechanical . Of course, the engine doesn't run as the fuel supply is cut...but it cranks. Or is it some other control i...

Re: Possible ignition switch problem? Or cylinder broken?

Oh, nice! Thnx a lot Betek!

Is this a straightforward change? No need to recode keys, change locks or anything? Also, would any of these fit or do I have to take a facelift version one?

Best,

Frane

Possible ignition switch problem? Or cylinder broken?

Hey folks, I ran into some starting/shutting down problems with my FL 1999 Civic 1.4 In short, here are the problems: - if I turn the key into most extreme position (so you can lock the steering wheel), I struggle to turn it back counter-wise. I need several attempts to do so and start the engine - ...

Re: 1999 FL D14 OBD1 coversion with P28 ECU

Bah, one more question... :) Seems like I was not born under a lucky star - the Civic I bought appears to have some ignition lock problems. The engine randomly shuts down and sometimes, I'm unable to turn the ignition on when starting. Takes several attempts to make it run. From what I have read, so...

Re: 1999 FL D14 OBD1 coversion with P28 ECU

Thnx richy!

So roughly, what kind of cost are we looking at here? Namely, that is going to be a deciding factor whether I am going to do it or not...

I fear, this whole thing will surpass the 350 EUR mark I set as limit :/

Best, F
