Re: Sebastix D14Z1 dyno history
I'm glad you've seen positive results. If the head is actually lifting then the only thing I can think of to cure it would be to increase head bolt tightening torque. Do you use aftermarket bolts? Increasing torque to the bolts isn't a good thing to do specially to stock bolts. There might be ARP's...

Re: Turbo Projects
7000 km a year is nothing, i've been pulling 10000 a year with my turbo setup, you just need to change the oil more often, but in the 5000 km range or 6 months. The tune is the key, but if you dont exeed 160 hp, there's no reason for it not to be reliable

Re: Some basic turbo info
there's no rods for d14, they have to be custom made. If you are willing to spend 450 euros on parts, it should't be on a d14 it's not worth the money for the power you will get. Dropping the compression on thi engine will not help unless you have rods that support at least 400 hp, for it to be usef...

Re: porting the cilinder head
it's a good idea to not oversize the ports, specially for NA applications, too big of a port reduces airflow velocity. In port & polish the exhaust side is the most important. On honda heads the biggest gains are found in the valve side of the port not in the gasket side (about 80 %)

Re: Turbo Projects
you would really need to aim to produce more that 400 hp to need a custom crank. I've seen different d-series pistons, and d14a4 ones for example are by far a better design than d16z6 or a6 ones, the skirts are shorter and they're almost flat. The rods are the only weak link for a big HP build. I'm ...

Re: Some basic turbo info
it's important to note, that the fuel consumption DOES NOT change just by changing the injectors, the fact that i noted in my last post it's about the duty of an 240 injector. An 440 injector @ 7500 rpms and 3.5 psi, would be @ 55 % duty cycle, but will be injecting exactly the same amount of fuel a...

Re: Some basic turbo info
b16 use 240's indeed, well looking at a quick map, i see that a 240 injector will be at a 96 % duty cycle at 3.5 psi @ 7500 rpms, safely, you could boost no more than 3.7 psi

Re: Some basic turbo info
of course you need oil lines for the turbo, at least 440 cc injectors, a programmable ECU unit (like p28,p30) of course your car should be converted to obd1 if it's not already done ;) so can tune for ignition and fuel. The only manifold design that will allow you to run A/C will be a log, the other...
