hi im new to the forum and would like some help to point out my problem im having.

now i found this site before it came into a forum with the walkthrough of the inlet manifold swap.

i did this swap fine and it made a fairly impressive change to the car.

now ive added a short ram intake with a D16z6 inlet manifold. i used all the right parts for the swap

i swapped the exhaust manifold but while doing this i broke the 02 sensor (4 wire one 2black and white and grey)

i replaced this with a OBD1 esi 4 wire sensor. now the car felt much more lively with this in but i had the error code. so i swapped the sensor back and now it feels as if its holding back on power with no error code.

the mods are only light i,e short ram, Z6 intake and a 4-1 manifold.

i havent swapped the cat or exhaust yet as ive just managed to get a hold of those parts.

in still using the standard ecu and the OBD2B wiring.

the MPG isnt that good but i put this down to the sensor and the lack of a good exhaust to let the gases out.

also i get the odd jerk as it in "pulls" back then jolts forward. its got a lot better since i swapped for another 1.4 sensor but i havent changed the one in the cat yet.

any help or pointers would be very helpful

hey man, ill let someone else help you as i dont want to misadvise. But next time try you posting problem questions in the problem section

4-1 header is not ideal for D series, as probe gets too far from the original position i've heard... this can be problematic, leading to wrong values. i guess you cannot use obd1 lambda probe. Cheers

have you used a heated O2 sensor? You need that in order to make it work properly! The reason for this is that you have to relocated the sensor to another place. Check the values of the lamda sensor you are using.

i used the orginal honda 02 sensor

There is this principle. If you move the o2 sensor away from the original place then it has to be a heated one.

just a thought the orginal honda manifold which came off the car was a 4-1 manifold

the placement isnt all that far out.

can i get a heated sensor from any other honda car?

Civic coupe D15B7, or any ESi have the heated ones. And some other D14's like your D14Z can have them...

the esi threw a code up in the 4-2-1 mani
but did feel a lot more responsive.
