Ehm... from what I know and actual see on my ZT2 (I see this daily btw hehehe)

You need:
-warm engine, I think >72 deg ECT was the trigger
-MAP must be low, I think <0.7 bar... bit of a guess though
-TPS must be below a certain % of WOT... guess it 40% or so, which is really low

Other than that you need to have no errors etc. etc.

But it is really difficult, especially accelerating in 5th gear you can hardly maintain closed loop. Let alone climbing a hill.

Man thats pretty lame, so most of the time you wont be in closed loop. I wonder why they designed it to be difficult, what where they trying to protect against :?: I suppose the only time your gonna be in closed loop is on a motorway at pretty lowish speeds ~60mph...

Well, put it pretty simple, I am always in closed loop when at constant level speed. Which in the flat country I live in is pretty easy to achieve no matter the speed.

i had very good fuel economy with my british gear box that had shorter gears , the car doesnt work hard to raise a good speed to make long rides so more fuel in the tank :))))
