What do you mean "you dont have any effect on the motor". Are you not allowed to make any modifications? because swapping the intake manifold is very important if you want to make any respectable power, that intake will just produce a lot more noise instead of much power gain...
You gain some power. You can always keep your stock airbox with a panel filter and remove the resonator box. This will give you good low and mid rev torque.
do you think removing the resonator box improves performace? i have done this but left the stock black inlet tube on, i havent noticed and gains just a deeper soundin engine.
I believe dodo had this intake. did you feel much gain using that inlet but standard inlet manifold joris???
I had been driving my car with this set up for a short time. That is a panel filter (apex) in the stock box, with the resonator off and a bigger intake tube (55mm). The sound was indeed deeper but the low end torque was very improved comparing to stock. I remember it used to pull from 1200rpms in each gear.
i've removed mine, before the IM swap. the sound was definitly better on WOT but i guess it was the only difference. the name ressonator... i'm thinking if this isnt the same thing as the ressonating effect on the IM plenum... The waves theory we discussed here...
If that is true, removal of ressonator would decrease performance. I read in couple of forums that a minor decrease in hp was noticed on a dyno after removal and the opposite in other foruns... Anyway, now i dont have it. Cheers
Theoretically maybe, but it always has to do with the design of each intake system. The purpose of ours is only for reducing the noise of the intake system i guess.
