Coolant lines difference between D16Z6 and D14A4

Hi,
I want to Swap the IM of my ej9 by a D16Z6 IM, and make the OBD1 swap, so i need to keep the IACV and FIV.
I looked and compared diagrams about coolant hose :
We can see on the D16 IM a separate way (in green) who doesnt exist on the D14A4.
In fact the coolant circuit on the D14A4 pass through the same places without this separation.
I wonder what is the utility of this green way on the D16 ?
And can i keep the FIV ? Why DoDo have remove the FIV ?
