Ok thanx guys for all the info.
I got a D16y8 head gasket for it.. is that ok ?
So what i will be going with is d16 intake mani, blox 4-2-1 ex mani and decat.
Skimmed head and y8 gasket. How much bhp should i expect ?
Doing a d14 engine rebuild
Re: Doing a d14 engine rebuild
If you don't tune the ECU you will see not much improved
I think the bhp will be around 100bhp.
And If we will be optimistic 105bhp

Neh I would not be that conservative, look at Baz his car, I think he got 120+ with a similar setup without ECU tuning, even Polivias came far before putting his SAFC on I believe. Sometimes indeed 105 bhp is all you can get, but on average I'd say 110-120.
On the D16Y8 head gasket, its excellent (and same as D14A3/A4). Steel sheet gaskets are those, much better than the old D15B2/B7 gaskets.

Let us know what you get done. As the others said make sure you dont skim too much off the head. Remember: If you skim too little nothing bad will happen and you can always take more off. If you take off too much then its too late!
I would definitely consider going OBD1 since after tuning you'll get more power and increase reliability since the standard maps wont handle the increased compression 100%. Should still be okay though methinks.
