Also, quite difficult for me to check the compression values with this setup:
D16Z6 head + D16Y8 pistons
I'm considering what pistons should be better for turbo application on this head... D16Y8 or D14A4 stock ones?
Best Regards

have you considered the vitara ones? You can have them in 2 sizes

I was reading some info about them.
It seems they are quite good, but, the position they run, under the deck top may lower the compression too much. Some forums mention 7:1... I would be glad with good Honda Stock ones
anyone can advice me in keep the original or change to y8's?

d16y7 head is identical to the d14a4 head and has the same volume that the d16z6 head, so you should have a CR about 9.1:1
it seems to be good for a turbo setup, but I don't understand much about turbos.
and you can play with the headgasket to lower the compression a little bit

i don't know if the stock pistons can hold as the vitara ones, which go up to 300bhp, maybe more. the c/r can be fixed (to increase it a bit) with the right headgasket. Just avoid buddy club gaskets which suck

Thats a good advice to start with !
Thanks. with my setup this are compression rates of several pistons and distance to the deck surface in mm:
D16Y8 Pistons (8.71 + 0.3mm)
D16Y5 Pistons (8.67 - 0.1mm)
D17A2 Pistons (7.30 + 2.6mm)
Should use the third one if i can find it...
Best Regards

with low cr's in lower rpm's you lose some power! but you can give it more boost, higher cr you gain power in lower rpm's but you cannot boost it to much. so all depends on your target and choose the highter cr that you can run for how many hp you want.
correct me please if I'm saying it wrong

Yes. The only problem is with CR round 7, the car would be considerably worse in low revs than it is now. And then shoot. I dont mind dont reach 300hp goal if i come close but it remains nice do drive. Other option is a VNT Turbo
