Get a head start on handling with the '98+ EJ9

One of the facts many Civic owners and even Honda dealerships do or did not know long time are that the '98 EJ9 together with the facelift EJ9 from '99-'00 are fitted with 262 mm front brakes instead of 242 and that they also have a sway bar.
Since most people are not aware of this difference, most '98 EJ9 are sold same price as '96-'97 while the facelift is considerable higher priced second hand.
To be sure you have the upgraded version and not a '97 version that got on the road in '98 first time, watch for stock rims. If they are 14 inch instead 13 inch you probably have the 262 brakes (since 13 inch rims did not fit over them). The swaybar usually can be spotted.
Also note the "H" logo in the Crome grill, it is slightly larger compared to the '96-'97 logo (and body coloured grill).

International ej9 owners please let us know about the price of your car!
Let me start. In Greece the 3 door hatch used to cost 13.800euros as new for the baseline models and could reach 16.100e for the luxury editions.
As used, ej9 civics are very well priced here in Greece. The price range is from 3000 to 6500e. I know that these prices will seem too high for E.E. markets but this is how things work in Greece.

My car had an original price somewhat below 13.000 euro, 12.500 or something I guess. Over here in the Netherlands they go from 1000 to 4000 depending on year and quality.

in Portugal these cars tend to be over evaluated. They cost like 2500 - 4000eur while the market price for a 1996 Ej9 is about 1600eur.
Still, for my 1997 model i've payd 1500eur with 100'000 kms on the clock.
It was my uncles car.

In Serbia, Hondas are generally over - evaluated.
EJ9 99-00 is from 4, 4.5 to 6k euro ( prices droped a bit because of the crysis )
DOn't bother askin' 'bout 6 gen VTi ... I know every single one in Serbia. And they are not for sale. Ever
