Hello everyone, I finally made my first step, I put the intake manifold (hooray!). I know that the work was simple, but I was curious. I learned a lot and told in this topic (viewtopic.php?f=7&t=359).

but I want to continue.
+ I already have a D16Z6 Cylinder Head
+ Distro TD-42u (d16z6)
-Sent ECU P28-G51 AUTO

I'll try to go on about their observations, but need your help. those who have already put another Cylinder Head or changed ECU.

tell me why I can not right now without changing the distributor to change the ECU (live d14 disto and Cylinder Head)?

or another question, let me leave the ECU as is (OBD2B), what happens if I change my Cylinder Head and distributor of the D16Z6?

Ilya, you could to this actually.

But do not change the cams, since the EJ9 ECU will not work well with VTEC cam, though you do not use VTEC, the lower cam lobes are still very different. Vice versa is the same shit, but not your problem.

So what you can do as far as I believe: put the D16Z6 head on your engine, but keep the D14 cam and rocker assembly. The only difference between D14 and D16 head (apart from some minor dimension changes) is that the D16 head has the VTEC oil channels pre-drilled. But I think not using the VTEC rocker assembly, but the D14 instead is fine, it just blocks the oil would the VTEC solenoid be engaged, which will not happen since you have not the VTEC ECU jada jada jada.

Ow but there is a simple problem, the D14 dizzy will not fit and D16 dizzy has wrong signal type... ah damn, close. So, milling the flange of the D14 dizzy is needed to make it fit on the D16 head... hmmmm.

But technically speaking, the combustion chambers and valves are alomst identical between D14 and D16 head, so no problem there.

Would their be much point in doing this though?? As you wont be getting VTEC or the VTEC cam, the benefit would be in the improved port shape of the D16Z6, which I dont think would give that much of a gain??

thanks for the detailed response.

Yes, I watched D16 D14 heads. differences really VTEC, and distributors.

Do I understand correctly? I need to put my head D16Z6, and change the distribution.
but the interior of the head D16Z6 replaced by D14 head? valves, rockers, camshafts

ps.
my connector from the distributor is not like the fact that I had seen before, can help?

A the 7 wire dizzy only found on D14A3/A4 aint it? I just cut off the connector and put a 'normal' 2+7=9 pin connector setup. Completely different.

You can only use this dizzy with the original D14 ECU... so depending on your setup you need to keep this or change to D16Z6. Btw, this D14 dizzy does not fit right on the D16Z6 head does it?
