non-VTEC - P06
VTEC - P28

Do not mix please, runs terrible since ignition maps are quite different for both types of cams.

I knew the difference Dodo, but for sometime i will be running without vtec head. so, i can deactivate vtec on the P28ecu and run a map there like D14 moddified or P06. Then, when i couple my Y8 head, i should reactivate vtec and run a P28 map or D14 moddified. am i thinking right? Cheers

I didnt know it was possible to deactivate VTEC. Is this simply done by unplugging VTEC sensors so ECU recieves no signal?

Guess so. But you can do it easily by disabling on the ECU programmer like Chrome or ECTune. I think it is possible that way. This way you dont have to use two ECUs. One for non vtec and other for vtec.

Yes, that way is more simple !
But dont worry you will be fine with P06, enabling vtec. you can also enable vtec by rpms, without needing Ecu mods.
