Re: want to upgrade my brakes!
PS: CRV/Hrv have drums of 220mm in the rear and the regular civic has 200mm drums in the rear.So they allready compensate for the bigger brakes in the front.
We could swap those drums onto our civics but they are 5 lug ( 5x 114.3) so you need to swap the fronts too and get other wheels.

Quote from Endyn:"The combustion chamber is a better shape than the DOHC.So don't chunk those 1.6 SOHC engines, they can make really good power. For a pure performance application, regardless of application, I'd choose the SOHC. No bull!"

Re: want to upgrade my brakes!
Guys, what is the central bore diameter of this brakes? I think its bigger than 56.1mm and stock wheels will need to be changed.BETEK wrote:If you have this stuff it will fit
Did some one of you have more information about the central bore diameter of these rear disk brakes? If some one have this swap kit, would you be so kind to measure the central bore diameter?
Thanks in advance!
Regards.
Re: want to upgrade my brakes!
It is directly bolt on swap if you have OEM rims or not.
Why you need the central bore diameter?

Re: want to upgrade my brakes!
Cuz I have genuine steel rims with winter tires and they have central bore of 56.1 like the original 13" of our Civics...I'm not sure after the swap to rear disk brakes I can use my wheels...BETEK wrote:It is directly bolt on swap if you have OEM rims or not.

Re: want to upgrade my brakes!
With central bore you will not have any problem because you have genuine rims.
But for the diameter of your rims 13" I don't know if you will have problem because heat protectors of the brake discs is bigger than discs size.
I know that with 14" rims you will not have any problem (I used to have 14" oem rims) with the heat protectors
The best thing that you can do is to try the 13" wheel on the disc arm

Re: want to upgrade my brakes!
hi ,
iv just been offered some 282mm discs and calipers from a rover 620i, and wanted someone to confirm if these will fit ?
Iv spoke to someone who says putting the bigger discs on is much better that putting on standard size performance discs and pads?

Re: want to upgrade my brakes!
The callipers fit directly but the discs will need modifications
or swap MG ZR160 discs

Re: want to upgrade my brakes!
ahhh very useful, so rover calipers, and mg zs 282mm discs, sounds good!
Re: want to upgrade my brakes!
The only modification that will be need with ZR160 discs is rasping about 1.5-2mm the carriers of the callipers, as shown on the picture with the green colour or you can just swap zr160 callipers

Re: want to upgrade my brakes!
hi, great picture!
What should i do, buy the rover 282mm discs and pads then modify the caliper?
or go for standard size 262mm performance discs and pads?
I've read above how it will make the front end dip/rear end lift under heavy braking....any thoughts on that?
Price wise either option will cost me abowt £150
any help appreciated
