Exhaust manifolds
Re: Exhaust manifolds
A bit late in the discussion, forgive me I'm a newbie, I bought a 4-2-1 on ebay for £39 plus delivery. All in all less than £50. The dealers obviously buy these in large numbers at a cheap price then need to turn them back into cash quickly. Wait until you see one for auction starting at 99p then place a strategic bid at your top price, it may take 3 or 4 goes but you'll get a bargain. Fit was bad but nothing that couldn't be put right.
Fast, reliable, cheap. Pick any two - because you won't get all three!

Re: Exhaust manifolds
it can't go wrong! Cheers for having a cheap header! Still there are noumerous shaped and quality cheap headers. Some of them fail, while some other last for long time. Are you happy with yours?
Re: Exhaust manifolds
Makes a great exhaust note and after 10,000 miles or so still in one piece. Only problem is a lack of flex section, it created stress elsewhere and reminded me that the middle box was 12yrs old.

Re: Exhaust manifolds
our headers don't have flex pipe (donut) but they keep the stock bolts with the springs around them. Donuts tend to brake all the time.
Re: Exhaust manifolds
Rare presentation/comparison of many aftermarket exhaust manifolds for D-series engines!!

Re: Exhaust manifolds
i can somehow relate to this picture BUT its the 1st time i see this -
is it good to have the 1st and last connected and two in the middle connected - both are seprate until they meet down in the end..?
it doesnt say how much hp gain it gives ..any idea ?
which is the strongest header for our d-series?

Re: Exhaust manifolds
If you talking about the 2nd photo's header it is 4-1.
Theoretically it is good for high revving, I want to say it performs better at high revs.

Re: Exhaust manifolds
The first photo's header is classic 4-2-1 header.
Personally I don't have it but you can read many reviews in this forum for this style of header!

Re: Exhaust manifolds
The below header is 4-1 from IRESA for D-series and it is like the B18C ones for high revving!!
