I'm interested in this myself, can you make a simple step by step? Why cant you just remove everything?

the link i provided was a nice step by step explanatory of a rack getting fixed - not what 007 was talking about.
ild like to see his explanation about his setup step by step as it was interesting to me but what i meant to say :-
if you remove the PS - might as well remove the whole thing -
i repeat but when you remove the PS ...
well the ps is meant to reduce pressure while making U-turns and make steering more easier while steering at hard turns that require huge muscles to turn the wheel at a hard corner but with great speed.
my point was in this debate was -
once PS removed - you will incounter more pressure while turning at corners or when parking or even when steering at complete constant - at the joints of the wheel beerings - axel beerings get damaged because they can't hold over load pressure - too much friction will take place at the joints while at turning in your place or at corners if you remove your PS or your power pump...!! quite contrary -
you can play with distributing weight on your steering rack is more sensible on the rack or power pump or PS.

So let me get this straight, you think that more stress is on axle/ball joints when no power steering is fitted? I dont see why that would be the case. Please elaborate

Imagine a.simple T shape steering in the times of flinstones .
Im sure it will be hard to steer at corners or while turning.
Thats why the power pump maintains liquid level in the power steering.
If no liquid in the ps .. The steering wheel would ne hard.
This will result in more friction between the tyres and the road,
Eventually causing more stress on axel bearings.
Thats why you hear trac trac sounds when making you turns,
Thats when you know that ur axel is messed up.
To have a power pump is very imp.
You can choose the type of liquidity inside the ps to know what type or how much
control are you looking for. Grip level .
If the power pump is removed okay fine its removed to get more hp from the engine to the wheels,
And then somehow you loop the ps system like what 007 created.
He has created mote stress on the wheels bcoz the ps cannot pump or circulate. the liquid.
The liquid in the ps is locked and its gona leak put due to pressure caused from the result for removing the power pump.
The hp gain is near to zero with or without the power pump,
Simply bcoz its a rotation mechanism ,
I wouldnt Remove the power pump like what 007 did.
Instead ild increase rotation level and play with liquidity strength .
I understood 007 way.
but removing POwer pump cam cause stress and even slower rotation to the wheels.
So why not remove all of the ps system .
I never had a ps system and always had problems on u- turns and in turning,
Too much noise and always same problem ... The ball bearings get eroded due to to much friction
That came from pressure and weight of the car. Trac trac u hear but once the ps and pp came it helped

for those who are interested in deleting their PS setups, here is how I did it:
1. trace the PS fluid hoses back to the steering rack and locate the inlet and outlet.
2. disconnect the hoses near the rack and loop the inlet and outlet using a U shaped rubber hose. try to fill up the hose with as much fluid as you can before sealing the system. you need this fluid to lubricate the internals of the rack.
3. slide out the PS fluid reservoir in the engine bay.
4. disconnect the PS belt at the crank pulley.
5. unbolt the PS pump and its anchoring bracket from the engine block.
drive around a bit with this setup and see if you like it. if you do, great. if you don't, do the opposite and restore the system.
personally, I like the fact that the car is a bit lighter, the setup is a bit simpler and the crank is less loaded. while some people like me like a heavy steering and enjoy wrestling the wheel, some people might prefer a lighter, more responsive setup. to each his own. that's all there is to it.

So you just hooked up the inlet to the outlet so when one side would have a positive pressure and the other negative it just loops round?

correct. that way the fluid can still circulate. if you simply disconnect the PS belt without looping the inlet and outlet, the static pump blocks fluid circulation, increases resistance and makes the steering harder.

you can't see the looped rack but the missing pump and reservoir should be clearly evident.
