I was just wondering if any body knows what potential the head has and any specs for my a2 head as I'm not sure if its worth keeping or whither to use a head like the d16z6.
also does it make any difference having the spark plugs on the inlet side or the exhaust side?

Re: d14a2 head
The D16Z6 head (and D16Y8) has SOHC VTEC, and fits straight onto our D14 blocks so is a common swap to add VTEC and increase power. The are guides on here on how to do it on our 1.4 engines.
IIRC all D series except for the DOHC versions have spark plugs on the same side, it wouldn't fit otherwise. Check what you're buying before you buy it.
