Are there still people interested ? I'm going to try and get this started again.I contacted the seller and the prices are still the same.Leading time is 7Weeks to produce these.
3 sets => £310 per set with bolts
6 sets=> £290 per set with bolts
Shipping to europe was £30 shipping , to the UK £10.
I also have been thinking about using the YCP Vitara pistons since they are cheap and reliable.So many people using them today without problems.The new Vitara pistons are stronger and better sized .They also have a teflon coating.And they only cost $150 .
If we would mill the top of the vitara piston 1mm shorter we could reduce the volume of the piston and get 8.4 :1 compression with a longer rod and a stock D14 ( Y7) head.With a d16Y8 head the compression would rise to 8.7 :1 which is still very low compression but it's a lot better then without milling the vitara piston which gives 7.7 :1 to 7.9 :1 compression.
There's a russian who milled a similar vitara piston to fit in a d15 engine and he made around 300hp with those pistons.He used the general replica piston not the stronger YCP pistons ,So i think they can handle it if the top is milled.His nickname was Kyky-Pyky (read as kuku-ruku RUS)
engine: D14Z1

This was posted before in the dyno section
This is how the piston looked like after milling 1mm
I would keep the milling of the piston to a Max. of 1mm up to 1.2mm.Milling the top down reduces the top ring land ,which also increases the chance of breaking the top ring land.
This is how the new vitara pistons look like
Speedfactory used these pistons and made about 550whp with these pistons and they used FJT I beam rods.
They failed when they were at 600whp they were not sure if it was the pistons.Afterwords they went with forged pistons ,and when they spun a bearing on the dyno and had no time left ,they used the Vitara pistons again .
This time in a sleeved d16 block and made 635whp with those YCP vitara pistons .So it's save to say they can handle 500whp in a stock sleeve d-series engine.Even if we mill them 1mm i think they still can handle 300hp in a D14 engine which is more then enough out of a d14 turbo i guess
The williams motorsport h beam rods of this thread are still the cheapest .
For the vitara pistons we need a connecting rod length of 140.2 mm which is 1mm longer so the Vitara pistons needs to be milled 1mm. For most aftermarket forged pistons we need a connecting rod length of 137.7mm.
So we can do a groups buy for both specs aftermarket and Vitara pistons ?
