Guys D14 rods are a breed apart you can not compare them with D16 rod or D15 Rods .They are NOT the same and will NOT fit .B18C or even B18B rods Won't fit .They might fit in a D16 BUT they have bigger big ends of 48mm , D14 has smaller big ends of 43mm.
I got this from the crower website the D13 rods have big end of 1.693" =43.00mm
B18c rods have a Big end of 1.890" =48.00mm

For the ones that don't know D13 rods are the same as d14 rods they are listed under 1342cc.

Yes... I'd really like a D14 turbo one day with these D13 rods from crower. Really anxious what these can do.
Hmmm... I got a good D14 for spare, maybe I'll put it away for a while and do this myself in a few years given the money.

this looks like a good idea for me while i build up my car, i wonder would it be much shipping to Ireland? so with the z6 head, and imo these rods are still ok when i later add on turbo

I've searched the entire internet ,gone true a lot of catalogs of bike and car connecting rods and the closest rod i've found that fits the D14 engine is one of the Nissan sentra 1982-1988 1.5L /1.6L engines.
The E15ET and E16 rods and E15 rods .
Length (CD): 137.5mm
Big end bore: 43mm
Pin size: 19mm
Big end width: 21.75mm
Small end width: 24.7mm => wider then stock E15
Stock D14 rods are
Length (CD): 138mm
Big end bore: 43mm
Pin size: 19mm
Big end width: 22.8mm
Small end width: 18mm
As you can see these rods are 0.5mm shorter in length ,the big end width is actually slightly too small and the small end width is too wide.We can fix the small end width by milling off the width on both sides to 18mm width.What we can't fix is the big end width ,you can run these as they are with excess play on the sides but it isn't recomended.
One rod that i would like to get my hands on is one from a D14z6 engine that comes from a civic 2002-2005 EP1.
The honda parts catalog shows that this connecting rod has a different part number.So it could be stronger then a D14a4 rod .My guess is that those rods have smaller big end widths since most newer engines use smaller big end widths.
Another option would be to get a set custom made. ZRP rods can make a one off custom set for 600Euro.
Which is a cheaper option then crower rods which are around $880 now.

Nissan GA15 pistons are great for turbo too ,they have a lot of oil holes in the piston.Only downside to me is they are 76mm bore which is too big without sleeving the engine.I also thought about the Vitara pistons but they need to be milled about 1mm from the top to give enough compression for a turbo build.And also requires custom length rods.
Mitsubishi Colt CZT pistons ( 4G15T 16valve engine) are pretty good pistons for turbo.Very thick ringlands,comes with coated skirts from factory and has a flat top .Doesn't have any valve cut outs ,so you can customize them .
Only downside is you don't find those engines used so cheap.And new the pistons +rings are around €500 from Mitsubishi. The bore is also 75.50mm and pistons pin is also 18mm and very thick pin. Compression height is 26.4mm.

If you would use the Y8 spec arias pistons in a D14 you get 10,15 :1 Cr.
That isn't much but it's because a D14 has 200cc less then a D16.So you still need to mill the head or use a Y8 head and mill that to go around 11:1 compression.If you would use a Y8 head and mill 0.020" of the head with these pistons you'll get 11.24 :1 cr.
The y8 spec pistons also sit 0.2mm below deck ,so you could mill the deck 0.2mm .
D16a6 pistons will stick above the deck 0.1mm,which is dangerous if a lot heat (turbo) is being used.Even when u use pm7 pistons people don't even looked at the total heigh which is 58.8mm.That means those skirts are 9.25mm longer then stock D14 pistons,which may give better stability but is dangerous cause they stick out when pistons are at BDC.
Arias gives a rating of 11.5 :1 compression for these pistons when they are used in a D16 engine.That's the highest compression rating any aftermarket piston manufacturer gives for D16 engines.All the other ones only give a rating of 10.5 :1.If you would use one of those your compression would be lower offcourse.So if anyone wants to build a D14a4/A3 either custom made pistons or these D16y8 pistons from Arias are the best you can get.
DY8 Arias dome pistons compression height are 29.99mm (1.181") and not 29.3mm hondaNickx,
Same for the Dish pistons series : 29.99mm (1.181")

Wrong , that is D16z6 and D16y7 specs. If you look closely D16y8 is 1.154" = 29.3mm
OEM compression height for Z6 and Y7 is always 30mm Y8 is always 29.3mm .
Some turbo piston are lower then stock and are 29.8mm for z6/Y7 .
Arias didn't list those correctly .D16y8 can never be at 30mm compression height cause it will stick above the deck 0.5mm. 29.5mm compression height is equal with deck in a d16y8 engine,stock is 0.2mm below deck (29.3mm)

I've seen them for sale on Ali express and others they cost $35 a piece so $140 for a set of 4 .
I've also noticed that pauter makes D14 rods too , they are however much more expensive +/- 1000$
