Turbo tuning potential
When the discussion goes to turbos the sky is the only limit performance wise! There are several d14 turbos with a respectable amount of horsepower!
Let's discuss about them.
Let's discuss about them.
Re: Turbo tuning potential
I did a turbo build on my civic Ma8 whit a d14a2 engine two years ago.
Dynoed it to 97whp on 0.3bar. The only fuelmanagement was a fpr and a afr gauge.
would definently had pushed it more if i had found out that you can run a p28 ecu whit the d14 engine.
But now i already have swaped in a d16z6 fully built for turbo.

Re: Turbo tuning potential
How many hp did you get from it?
Re: Turbo tuning potential
" 97 whp " - about 120hp on the engine i believe...
Re: Turbo tuning potential
yes thats right, about 120-130hp in the engine.
It made 10.8 on 1/8 mile, and thats whit the 1190kg heavy ma8 5dr.
My crx ed9 whit 125hp d16z5 made 10.3 on the 1/8.
I dont know what a stock d14a2 can take before it breaks? 160whp?
I have tought about swapping the d14a2 back into the car as it now is obd1 and have a chipped p28 ecu whit neptune rtp and a Lc1 widebandkit.
But its more expensive to build a d14 whit rods and pistons than a d16.
