You need to find the specs of y7 cam. The specs of a4 cam are somewhere around here. I think that the y7 cam won't give you top end power as the a4 one. Maybe more low and mid revs power.

D16A6 cam cannot be swapped if I am correct, those cams have a diffrent lobe layout.
The D16Y7 might be an interesting upgrade, I am quite certain it gives a little more lift, but never actually saw somebody doing it.

And D16Z6's cam in D16Y8 head is the best option Joris?

Nope, it what I had for a long time... born out of practicality. I'd rather recommend getting the cam which should be in the head. So D16Y8 cam in Y8 head and Z6 cam in Z6 head. Performance will hardly change, but the dizzy fits better .
Somehow I still forgot to change from Z6 to Y8 when I bought my stage 1 from S2... so I still have a dizzy on 1 bolt. Which is not really safe I found out.

Mm so a stock D16Z6 cam would fit on my D14A3 head and make more hp?

You can't fit a sohc vtec cam into a sohc non vtec head.
The D16a6 cam might fit but as long as you don't know any specs of that cam you can't be sure you'll improve the timing and lifts. There's also a difference in valve angle and cam rocker arms between those heads .
I would try to look into a D16y7 cam and see what cam specs they have .

Quote from Endyn:"The combustion chamber is a better shape than the DOHC.So don't chunk those 1.6 SOHC engines, they can make really good power. For a pure performance application, regardless of application, I'd choose the SOHC. No bull!"
Re: Cams for D14
Mm ok, thats clear. I'm just looking for possibilities for my current setup to improve. So therefore this question.
Thnx, i will do some research into those cams

Re: Cams for D14
D16A6/Z2 will also not fit. Completly different layout. the difference is easy to spot: sparkplug holes are at the back for A6/Z2 while at th front for D14 (and D16Z6/Y8 btw).
The only other cam option is indeed D16Y7 I know about... no idea about the specs, and I pressume less likely to rev well, it is a guess though.

Re: Cams for D14
the cam in the a3 a4 engines is actually a D16 cam,not a d14.
its the same like the y7 one. only difference is the cam gear why its fit on the d14 engine. the cam have a lift for a d16 engine.
in efect a real d14 cam is very very mild.
I once read that bisi tolds that the cam from a d16 (y7) is not recommendable for a d14 engine cause the short rod stroke ratio and blabla... and he made a special grind for a d14 purchaser.
All Respect for Bisi but thats not 100% correct.
You can often see good gains if you throw in a bigger OEM Cam in your Engine, sometimes you have to play with your Camgear maybe but it works fine.
Example: The B18 Integra TypeR Cams into the B16Head,works great.
Same with the D16A6 Cam in the D15 Engines
And Honda is not fool, they make the same Shit with the Ej9.
Big D16 Cam with a 1400cc Bottom End.
And Dodo is right...the d16a6 cam doesnt fit on the a3/a4 engines.
And if...its not worth, the dimension are almost the same.
Good Night
