Advanced Ign Timing
Stock Rev Limit 7200rpm
Fidanza Flywheel
Cam Gear
must be something about 76kw (103HP) at the wheels.
now its chipped, higher CR and built for reliablility with stronger valve springs and rod bolts. 7900rpm all the day,cam make power till 7500.

Nice. Stock d16z6 perform around 100 whp.
Are you satisfied with the bisi cam? Please comment on the performance throughout the band, the consumption etc.
Does it feel like stock on the way the engine works? (smooth etc)

Interessting. Tell us more about the car Some pics maybe?
Re: Various dynoplots of tuned d14, around the web
Hmm pics maybe later. Its not a poser car, just a daily driver ugly 5door civic which screams out if you let it rev up.
A stock d16z6 isnt comparable to my D14A, i dont know how long it needs to accelerate up to 180kmh,cause mines required approx 30 seconds for this altough is much more heavier.
But by the way youre right, thats the same results for the Sohc Vtecs.
The bisi cam...
its good, but not perfect. you lost some torque in bottom end and a little increase after 5000rpms, idling is almost smooth, consuption 1l more per 100km,its safe to use stronger valve springs cause Valve Float can occur after 7500rpm and a Good Tune is a must.
My FAV D14a3 build
Z6 Mani
Good Header with 50mm collector
Cold Air Intake
50-maximum 55mm Exhaust
DeCat
Y8 Headgasket
Shaved Head (0.7mm)
Adv. Ign Timing
Delta 272 Cam
Bisi Pro Springs
D14A2 Bottom ( OEM Domed Pistons for High CR)
2 degrees Retarded Cam Timing after install (1 dgr for go back to zero due shaving + thinner gasket and 1 dgr to increase power from 4500rpm)

Ive never seen a dyno with velocity on the x-axis. And what happened at 50km/h ??

kph divided by rolling radius and gear ratios will give the engine rpm. It probably doesn't have conversion built in and that dip is gear change.mynameisowen wrote:Ive never seen a dyno with velocity on the x-axis. And what happened at 50km/h ??

I see, I thought that it was a gear change. What gear are you normally in on a dyno then?

the one closest to 1:1 ratio. that's 4th on our cars which is somewhere around 0.91:1 iirc. fifth gear is way big overdrive at ~0.7 for economy purposes.mynameisowen wrote:I see, that it was a gear change. What gear are you normally in on a dyno then?

Where's the Dyno chart of that polish D14 that reached 153 hp ?I believe saxophonias posted it somewhere on this forum but i can't find it ...
Quote from Endyn:"The combustion chamber is a better shape than the DOHC.So don't chunk those 1.6 SOHC engines, they can make really good power. For a pure performance application, regardless of application, I'd choose the SOHC. No bull!"
