97 civic conversion

well all.

ive decided that im going to do my obd1 swap next. the car is a 97 UK civic. This means its obd2a right?

which means for going obd1 ill need

d16z6 injectors (240cc)
d16z6 distributor
d16z6 IACV
p28 ecu chippd and a tune on chrome.
also a obd2a to obd1 conversion harness.

This is all i will need isnt it? as i know a guy taking a d16z6 engine out so i cn get the parts from him.

conversion harness arent available for your engine. so, you either re-pin all the wires (dozzens of them) and get the ECU B-Plug and Dizzy plug or buy a harness from another car, and then install conversion harness (much simple). Stock injectors can be used also (but im not 100p cent sure) although that needs to be introduced in the ECU data. you can use other dizzys and ECUs (p06, p30, p05 maybe, hondata...). Dizzy should match the new head if you are planning to do a mini me swap, but not absolutely necessary, as you can change just exterior shell between them in orther to fit.
You can tune on chrome, ECTune and many others...

i think you can buy them from the states on ebay too. must check that again actually.

so the parts i have listed is all i need? im keeping the d14 head as i have ported it and got a cam reground for it. gona get a 3 angle valve job done also. and sum springs.

i want to change to the 240 injectors as i would be worried about running the 190cc's at too high of a duty cycle.

If you can change to 240cc you should, but is not abs. necessary. just remind testing your new injectors, to see if the debt is the same on all 4. D14 engine was not available in america, so i doubt that conversion harness fits our engine. Remind yourself it is different for example from a D16Y7.

True, I was hoping that all obd2a connectors would be indentical and that one harness would fit all of the same obd type. Remember that P28 ecu is meant to run with 240cc injectors so Im sure it would be less hassle to use them.
from your list your missing the Z6 IM, im guessing you already have that done?

Yea i do. have a obx intake manifold. seems to be good enough design but a pain to fit.

Marty... which ECU do you have now? Please show the connectors (unplug if you can). Did you have an MA or MB Civic? In that case you could have already OBD1 ECU with one not fitting connector into normal OBD1 ECU. You can either skim of some plastic or re-pin it to a real OBD1 connector.

If you have an EJ9 chassis ignore the above... but I've once plundered an MA or MB chassis on a yunkyard which I believe was '97 and it had the 'almost OBD1' ECU.

iv had a look at my car and it appears i already have a 7 wire dizzy.

the ecu also had two plugs. one is a 22pin plug and the other is a 26pin

ecu numbers are as follows

does this mean i just need a p28 ecu?
