Oil Leakage?
Oil Leakage?
Hi guys, yesterday i was checking the fluid levels on the engine and two things seemed odd.
1st the steering fluid level was way above the level, wich i did not realised before, and 2nd i saw what seemed to be oil above the gearbox, but like dry oil, a thin layer of oil... i could not realise where the oil came from but it was not from the head or valve cover i believe. dont know how is the gearbox level but my 5th gear sometimes scratch a little bit, but the noise goes away some miles after...
What should i do next?
Cheers

Re: Oil Leakage?
Maybe the oil comes from the camshaft seal.
Re: Oil Leakage?
Yes it seems like caked ! But i've washed the engine some months ago... Camshaft seal? And dizzy seal? can it be?

Re: Oil Leakage?
Can be.
In my case, valvecover gasket is always a nightmare... I stopped trying to do it properly and just let it sweat once in a while. Keeps the rust away .

Re: Oil Leakage?
Your supposed to fit a new one when you take of the valve cover, my friend didnt do this on his ej9 and now it leaks. Although it looks messy its not really a problem though

Re: Oil Leakage?
After this i was double checking, and i remembered that i have a pipe coming from the engine head to this section, instead of entering on the intake manifold pipe... Oil can come from there ! but i will confirm !
