D14 valve adjustment
D14 valve adjustment
I adjust my valves recently at the specs that gives Honda manual
(Intake:0.20mm & Exhaust 0.25mm).
But I don't like it much.
I am thinking to reduce the clearance between the valves stem and the rocker arms.
What is your opinion about this?
There is better set up for a stock engine from the specs giving Honda manual?

You can play between the max values honda supplies. But as there is not such a filler in diameter it's always done from the engineer experience
Re: D14 valve adjustment
You suggest to set clearance with max values? For example to set intake at 0.22mm? What is the benefit of small clearance and what the big one?

with more clearance the valve is in contact with the head more time, and they have better heat transfer. if you reduce the clearance maybe can burn the valves...BETEK wrote:You suggest to set clearance with max values? Re: D14 valve adjustment
especially the exhaust valves, they cool being in contact with the head, if you reduce the valve gap, they take less time in contact with the head and they can overheat.
