Ultra high performance radial tyres
There is a new category of tyres over the past few years which use the same compound of semi slick tyres or slightly differentiated. They are radial tyres but with emphasis on track use. They outperform the majority of high performance summer tyres, they have reduced tradeware and they won't betray you on the rain like semi slick tyres. This category has been created mainly for autocross in the states and for track races when you don't won't to fall in the category of cars with semi racing tyres. This is very clever as you combine almost the grip of a semi with the merits of a radial tyre.
Stay tuned.

Re: Ultra high performance radial tyres
I am going to be getting these hopefully next week
Toyo R1R 195-50-15
This is a click inferior to 888. It uses the same material only it has a road design making it more potent in the rain. As i read, it's difference to 888 is not too distant, which is good news. It's tradeware is a bit more. It's also wider than normal 195 (the same happens with 888). It's a common secret that tyre companies aren't too compliant with the typical width number, but as they say these toyos are the biggest.
Have a look with the already oversized AZENIS
Here you can see their specs

They weigh 9 kg in 195-50-15, that is 0.5kg more than 888 and 1.5 less than T1R
