Re: Cams for D14
Maybe we can have Dodo tune it for us Joris you have open invitations for free holidays around Europe
Guys i think it is the same procedure like all obd1 chipped ecus meant for b-series. If there are programmers of b-series in your country, then they can do the same thing for the chipped obd1 d-series ecu. They need knowledge of the interface, and a dyno with a wideband.

I know how to tune it, but can't alter ECUs myself .
If anybody is prepared to come to the Netherlands, I have a little plan for a dyno/eCtune event which might or might not commence during the winter months... once all plans are put together I will come back to this subject.

Re: Cams for D14
I just came back from holiday and just spoke to Martin OMI Performance (my tuner) and my custom cam has arrived (done by NEWMAN in the UK).
I don't know what the exact specs are, I will ask Martin to post it here

My Bisimoto d14a4 Level 1 Cam
My Bisimoto D14a4 Level 2 Cam
First off why is everyone obsessed in turning high rpms to make power .You don't even make power till 8000rpm ,you won't make more power if you go higher rpms.If you don't make power don't go higher it's just plane DUMB With the right parts you can make power till 7500-8000rpm aprox. You need to build an extreme D14 with level X cam and insane compression to even turn 9000rpm And still make power around 9000rpm.
If anyone is interested i've had a Bisimoto D14a4 Level 1 cam and i still have the specs of the cam here.In the meanwhile i allready have a Level 2 here. The level 1 was made for a D14 with z6 intake manifold and I/H/E .
The D16z6 or D16y8 cam will work on the D14 but it isn't the best cam for your D14.I've seen this cause of the differences in timing & lifts between the D14 cam and the D16 cam.A D14 engine isn't a D16 engine , a D14 has less lift and more duration then a D16 cam.You would make more power with a custom cam for your D14 engine.A sohc vtec cam will work but it won't be the best...Another thing ... the only difference between a D14 head and a D16y8 head with skunk 2 cam is the cam being better.A D16y8 heads flows the same as a D14 head or D16y7 head which is the same as the D14.D16y8 is actually a pretty bad head for good flow ,your better off with a d16z6 head or porting your D14 head.

Quote from Endyn:"The combustion chamber is a better shape than the DOHC.So don't chunk those 1.6 SOHC engines, they can make really good power. For a pure performance application, regardless of application, I'd choose the SOHC. No bull!"
